...there's always something to share... i'm sharing the stories of my journey in life... for myself to remember, to appreciate and to miss in the future...

Pet shops

At Souq Waqif we went to the pet shops to look at the animals. We saw cats, fishes, rabbits and birds. The pet shops were noisy because I think the animals don't want to be trapped in the cages. I wanted a cat as a pet but my mom said no because if we go on holiday we would have to leave the cat at home and it cannot take care of it self. Another reason is that my sister is afraid of cats although she likes cats. She would be scared and scream if the cat comes to her.

Most people who go to the pet shop to see the animals are kids like me and my sister. We saw some weird pets like tad poles, crabs and long lizards. My favourite kind of animals are the kittens, bunnies and tortoises. I like the kittens because they are so adorable and I like the bunnies because they are very cool looking pets. I also like the tortoises but I just don't know why I like them.

My sister is not happy because she is mad at me for almost making her touch the cat.

In this picture we are happy because we liked the cute rabbits so much.

I am smiling here because I thought one of the hamsters looks so funny.

colourful chicks!

Wow! Look at how fast that white mouse is running.

This cat looks so sad. Maybe because nobody wants to buy him/her so the cat has to be trapped in the cage.

Such a cute little kitten! I wish I could have him/her

Cool it's a bunny with a purple & blue dress

Wow! Really weird kind of lizard species.

I enjoyed looking at the cool and weird pets at Souq Waqif because I like animals. I hope next time when we come again to the pet shops at Souq Waqif there will be more weird and cool looking animals that we can look at again.

At the souq...

Yesterday we went to the Souq Waqif and it was interesting!  There are many souqs in Qatar but Souq Waqif is the most famous souq in Qatar.  At Souq Waqif  there are many shops and restaurants selling various things and food. Many local people, expats and tourist love to come to Souq Waqif.  The environment at Souq Waqif is lively and happening. Most of the buildings looks old but I think they made it like this to show old Arabic architecture. I think the best time to come and enjoy walking around the souq is in the spring time because it is not too hot or cold like in the winter and summer.

The first thing we did at Souq Waqif was at The Coffee Bean to have some drinks and relax. I had a cold chocolate drink and quiche with my sister. My mom had some hot coffee and my dad had ice blended guava juice. The cold chocolate drink made me have a brain freeze! The quiche was hot and yummy. I tried some of my dad's juice and it was pretty good. So my mom had coffee but I don't know how it tastes because I am not allowed to drink coffee. After we had some drinks at Coffee Bean, I wanted to go to a place where there was a show but in the end we discovered it was just some people singing and playing traditional instruments. So then we decided to look around at the shops because my mom saw something she wanted to buy. My mom bought lots of colourful head scarfs for only QR 10 each.

Here me, my sister and my dad smiling to the camera while we're enjoying our drinks. We enjoyed eating and relaxing at the Coffee Bean because the place was not too crowded. We were sitting inside because it was very hot outside.

In this picture I am drinking my delicious chocolate drink with my sister sitting next to me. The chocolate drink tasted very sweet but I liked it.

We took picture before we leave Souq Waqif to go home.

While waiting for our car at the Valet Parking. It was very hard to find parking because many people prefer to go to the souq at night since it is too hot during the day. Me and my sister were so tired but we were very HAPPY! :-)

Lidah masih melayu...

This is Mem Beso's writing... Anyway, saje je aku nak enterprem skejap... Katanyaaa pemantau bertauliah! Harussss la skali skala menyelit jugak dalam ini wayang gambar! Hahahaa

Well, video kat atas tu saja2 suka2 je aku tempek kat sini... Tapi dalam saja2 tu haruslah ada juga sebab musababnya... Kannn kannn kannn...

Sebab utama aku letak video tu ialah ~ just to let all the readers tau yg anak2ku di rumah cakap melayu... Walaupun aiman tulis blog ni dalam english tapi bukan lah sebab dia tak pandai cakap melayu cuma dia tak reti lagi nak tulis in BM... Ada plak kang dia meroyan kalau aku paksa dia tulis in BM.. dah la nak encourage dia tulis blog ni pun kemain turun naik mood dia tu! kalah roller coaster!! lagik nak suruh tulis blog in BM! harussss bergegar rumah aku ni kang!!

Tapi, like i said, aiman cuma tak pandai tulis in BM je... kalau ko suruh dia cakap melayu memang mcm no hal lah... Lidah dia mmg lidah melayu... dah tu, dedua makpak dia memang kuat identiti melayu so anak2 pun kompemlah kena paksa cakap melayu kat rumah kannnn.... Muahahahhahahaa mak kejammm!!

Honestly in my own opinion, aku rasa macam rugi kalau anak2 aku tak pandai cakap melayu sedangkan diorang berbangsa melayu... Bahasa kan jiwa bangsa... Walau di mana kita berada, di manapun kaki ni melangkah, jangan lupa siapa kita... sape lagi yg akan memartabatkan bangsa dan bahasa kita kalau bukan kita sendiri... Kekalkan identiti kita... alangkan org luar berlumba2 belajar bahasa kebangsaan kita, tapi kita plak lupa utk memartabatkan bahasa kita sendiri... Tapi aku harap takde sesapa yang akan salah anggap pada aku yea... I am not saying those yang prefer anak dia cakap English and langsung tak tau berbahasa melayu tu tak bagus... not at all... Ingin aku tegaskan disini, I am not judging anyone but sekadar berkongsi apa yang aku tekankan to my own family... takde kena mengena dengan orang lain.... so, sebelum apa2 lebih baik aku bagitau awal2 yea.... kalau masih ada orang yang nak terasa, aku nak mintak maaf seikhlasnya... masing2 ada pandangan dan cara hidup masing2.... sesungguhnya aku takleh kawal perasaan korang... *peace no war*

As far as i'm concerned... aku kena make sure anak2 aku pandai cakap melayu and at the same time aku tayah nak risau sangat sebab dorang mmg boleh spekong matsaleh pun.... oklah tu kan bi-lingual... Aiman pun cakap most of kawan2 dia kat skolah boleh menguasai lebih dari satu bahasa... his bestfriend Gniewko tu lagilah, boleh cakap 3 bahasa Polish, English and French.... whoa!!Malula kalau anak aku tak boleh cakap bahasa melayu, bahasa asal usul dia... Mak Gniewko pun sama macam aku... dia kata very important for the kids to know their mother tongue because most of her family members back home bercakap menggunakan bahasa ibunda which is exactly the same reason why anak2 aku pun kena pandai cakap BM.... Family aku mana ada yang spekong london beria... not to say that all of them tatau nak cakap in english, some yes, but of course my mom and mil especially, and most of my uncles and aunties even our adikbadek sepupu sepapat memang tak boleh nak communicate in English langsung...

So, bayangkanla kalau anak2 aku tak boleh cakap melayu... gamaknya terpaksalah dorang bercakap bahasa ayam dan itik kalau balik kampung nanti! Huwaaa!! Kesiannnn!!! Lagik kesian kat mak aku sebab cucu dia ada berapa kerat je pun.. Dah la yg dua bradik ni dok jauh, setahun skali je pun baru nak jejak kaki kat kampung... Bila balik dah tak reti nak berborak pulakkk... Sebabnya, tak reti bercakap dlm bahasa melayu... tapi balik ke kampung melayu! cemano tuuuu? Fuhhh sadissss!!!

Our pillow!

This morning my mom showed me a picture of a pillow! The pillow was sowed by my uncle, Pak Mamat's wife, Auntie Faizah. I felt very exited to see a pillow with my name on it. I saw the picture on facebook when we were eating breakfast. Thank you for sowing this pillow for me Auntie Faizah.

The most thing I like about the pillow is that it is very colourful and has my favourite colours. My favourite colours are blue, orange and red. Before I have never got a pillow with my name with it so that is why I am very exited! Also I think it took a lot of effort to do this so it can look very nice.

My sister said she likes the pillow because it is very beautiful. It is a heart shape pillow and it has flowers that is why she likes it.

We have not got the pillow yet since it is in Malaysia. We will get it when we go back to Malaysia soon for Eid.

Thank you again Auntie Faizah I have never got something like this before.  :-)

it's a success!!

I am super exited that the bread I made with my sister tasted really good and it looked very fresh from the bakery. The smell of the bread was delicious like the taste of the bread itself. From the study room I could smell the bread in the oven.

Before, I thought the bread was not going to look good or taste this good. I enjoyed eating my bread. Maybe next time it will taste better and people would buy it?

Does any one wants to buy my delicious, appetizing, scrumptious, tasteful and yummy bread.

COOKING 101 ~ making bread!

Today we did something so fun! Well the thing that was so fun was baking bread!! This was my first experience to make my bread and it was very challenging because I had to be precise with my measuring and weighing. So the bread tasted tasty and it did! We wanted to make the bread because when we don't have any more bread, instead of buying bread we can make our own bread.

The steps we followed to make the bread was:

1. wash our hands
2. getting the ingredients, mixing bowl and weighing scale
3.We took all the ingredients measured them to see the weight and we put into bowl
4. we took the bowl and put all the ingredients into the bread maker machine and started the machine
5. we had to wait for it to finish and wait it until it rises. But the temperature was not right so it took a long time for it to rise
6. then when the dough was finish put it into oven and bake it until it turns into bread

Then after we started the bread making machine we watched the machine doing it's job for a few minutes. The fun part of making the bread was taking the ingredients and weighing them and putting it into the bowl before putting all the ingredients into the bread making machine. Also me and my sister both did putting the butter in the bowl but our hands got oily. We got the recipe from the internet. It was funny to see the ingredients mixing together because it made the dough look into something really weird! here are some pictures

In this picture I am busy putting the flour in the bowl while my sister is smiling to the camera

Here I am helping my sister with the water dispenser

My sister is doing something with the bread maker machine bowl while I am holding the bowl with some of the ingredients

Here my dad is showing me how to make the other kind of breads with the manual while my sister is looking at the machine mixing the ingredients into dough

! Us the little pro chefs oh yeah !

Today I learnt how to make my own kind of bread so we don't always have to buy bread at the shop. And from now on I can help my mom to make bread and it is fun to make bread.

Before I learnt how to make bread I thought it was really easy and you only need a few ingredients. But now it is not really that easy since you have to get lots of ingredients and we have to be accurate at measuring and weighing.

A fun day

Assalamualaikum. Today I did a few things like:

1. Reading the Quran

2. Doing taekwondo

3. Had dinner at Tasty Bell

4. Went to IKEA

Well I went to taekwondo lesson at 3:00 pm today. We always do warm ups like stretching and jumping jacks. After that short warm up, we normally do a group running with different motions. Then back to warm ups! This warm up is mostly just stretching and doing leg exercises. Then the master tells us to stand up and do punching like:

1. A few separate punching

2. Then 2 punches saying TAE punch 1 and then KWON punch 2

3. Lastly 3 punches saying TAE punch 1 and then KWON punch 2 finally DO punch 3

After punching we do a few kicks like:

1. Ap Chagi right foot first then we change foot when master tells us

2. straight kick up (forgot name) right foot first then we change foot when master tells us

3. Circle kick (forgot name) right foot first then we change foot when master tells us

4. Side kick (forgot name) right foot first then we change foot when master tells us
There are a few more other kicks

After a few kicks we do steps or kicking but today we only did the kicking. The type of kicking I did today was Yab Chagi which is side kick. The very last thing we do in taekwondo before we leave is bow to the master and shake hand.

Right after taekwondo we went to pick my dad up at his office. Then we went to Tasty Bell and ate our dinner there. Then we went to IKEA. At IKEA my family walked around the furniture then we saw what we were going to buy, a bookshelf. We went downstairs to the aisle where we were going to fetch the bookshelf. After paying for the bookshelf we had a chocolate ice cream for each of us and I got a shawarma while my sister asked for a hotdog. Finally we went home and had a rest.

What tiring but fun day!!

Reading the holy Quran

Assalamualaikum to those who are reading this. Well today I read the Quran. When I read the Quran my mom helped me with a few problems like :

1. The sound I was reading was not right

2. Forgot to read when it was suppose to be long but only sometimes I made this mistake

My mom explained it is important to read it properly because when you pronounce it wrong it changes the meaning of it. After we read 4 pages of the Quran we went and memorised a short surah. The surah is called Al Qafirun. The surah was about when the Quraiysh wanted to give wealth to Prophet Muhammad ( S.A.W) but only if  Prophet Muhammad ( S.A.W) stops preaching Islam, changes his religion and becomes a non believer called a kafirun.

This is a direct translation from the Holy Quran. So the Prophet Muhammad ( S.A.W) said "O you that reject faith" " I worship not that which you worship" "Nor will you worship that which I worship" And I will not worship that which you have been wont to worship" Nor will you worship that which I worship" "To you be your way, and to me mine" from Surah Al Qafirun.

From this Surah I learned:

1. We must remember the 5 pillars of Islam because it makes Muslims different from the non believers

2. Never leave Islam for wealth because Allah will give you rezeki

A new challenge..

It is not easy to inspire a 10 year old boy to write a blog... Quite challenging and of course i need to triple up the level of my patience as well...

Hmmm... I take it as a new challenge... Am sure it is not easy for Aiman too... This is indeed a new thing for him to learn in addition to the many things i have already asked (made) him to do during the school holiday...

Owh yeah... Just to let u know that Aiman has enrolled himself or should i say was 'forced' to participate in a 'summer school' program organised by yours truly aka MEM BESO... Wahh!! Sounds serious bangettt!! Hahaha...

Serious tak la serious sangat... subjects yg dia amek pun yg basic2 aje... tak caya tengok kat atas tu... but once he has registered, there's no way that he can back-off... Takde makna nak stop2 dah... Jalan terusssss jangan toleh2! Whoaa! Ganas! Hiks!

Anyway, dah seminggu kelas berjalan dengan lancar... bak kata omputeh... so far so good... Finger lickin' good! Kehkehkeh... Cumanya tugasan terbaru dia mengupdet blog setiap hari tu agak lemah lutut sket laaa... Maybe dia belum dapat lagi momentum yg sesuai untuk menulis... Belum ada keserasian jiwa agaknyaa... ecewahhh!! Takpelah... Slow and steady... Janji objective aku tercapai...

Am feeling hopeful for him! The only thing i need to do now is to keep reminding myself to be positive and to have faith in him! Let's do it AIMAN!

*mem beso signing off*

watching malay dramas with mommy and adik

Assalamualaikum today I watched a Malaysian drama called Iman Nabila. This drama was about Iman and Nabila. Iman and Nabila are the son and daughter of Puan Salimah but Iman is not really the son of Puan Salimah. Puan Salimah's father in law Tuan Arshad wanted a grandson because he already had a granddaughter. He wanted a grandson to have his company because he doesn't believe his granddaughter can run his company.

Iman is a boy who is not very respectful, not nice and disrespects his household also he doesn't want to go to school because he thinks if he is smart or dumb he will still get all the money from his grandfather. He behaves like this because his grandfather, Tuan Arshad spoilt Iman by letting him have what he want and letting him get away with the trouble he does. I think Iman is not very good because he would not respect the elderly and be not nice to people. He treats people by their class. Like he treated Tok Abu his driver when he was late to pick him up from school so Iman told Tok Abu to do 100 squats while holding his ears. I think this is VERY VERY CRUEL to treat an elder.

Nabila is a girl who lives with a woman called Puan Halimah in a village. She is very respectful, nice, respects her mother and other people and when somebody bothers her she knows how to do martial arts. Nabila is good because she helps people and stands up to people who are not nice to her or other people. For example, Nabila helped a cleaner that was getting shouted by Iman. I think helping a person is very GOOD.

My mom would not want me to be like Iman and would not let me behave like him. The reason why is that my mom wants me to be successful in life and not be rude, disrespectful, forgot about ALLAH, forgot to pray and not helpful to people. But my mom would want me to behave like Nabila because she is successful, smart, remember ALLAH, remember to pray, respectful, nice and helpful. My mom tells me to be a successful person you need not only smart in school but also everything like your attitude.

From this movie I learnt to:

1. Be respectful to your mother, whole family and other people

2. Be nice and think before you do something

3. Listen to your parent, elders etc.

4. Don't waste your time fooling around when you are supposed to do good things

5. ALWAYS REMEMBER ALLAH AND BE THANKFUL TO HIM ( REMEMBER THIS OKAY ANYONE READING THIS )

I enjoyed watching some of the episodes of Iman Nabila because it teaches people how to behave and shows how nice and bad people behave.

REMEMBER EVERYONE BE SUCCESFUL AND DO GOOD THINGS
