Dear 1st grade parents,
Monday, March 1st is Cultures Day at CIS. It is a great opportunity to share all
the wonderful cultures in the the CIS community.
In the Primary School, each grade level will put on a buffet lunch for the children.
We will need your help to bring in an item representing your country! You can bring in a main dish,
side dish or dessert. You will find a sign up sheet outside the 1st grade classrooms from tomorrow.

The sign-up categories are: starters/main course - salad/vegetables - sweets/dessert.
The buffet will be set up in one of the 1st grade classrooms, the children will eat the food in
the other classroom.
We will need 2-3 volunteers from each class to help set up, serve the
children and help clean up. We ask that volunteers be there half an hour before the lunch
starts until about half an hour after it is finished.

Also, if you are not using a disposable tray, please label your serving platter/utensils
etc so you get it back.
If your item contains nuts or pork, please indicate that as well. We do not think there are
any nut allergies in 1st grade, but if there is (and depending on the severity) perhaps we should
avoid nuts. Please contact us if your child has allergies and/or you have
any dietary concerns.
So remember your child does not have to bring lunch the 1st of March.
